Metro at Red Bull Air Race

A special operation is prepared, in order to improve its capacity, during the Porto’s Red Bull Air Race 2017, taking place at the weekend of 2 and 3 of September.
Metro system is going to work on its maximum capacity on Saturday (2) and Sunday (3). In these two days, between 10h00 and 20h00 all lines will be functioning with double vehicles. Additionally, the Yellow Line (D), serving São Bento (the nearest station to Ribeira), is going to have a highest frequency of passages between 15h00 and 20h00, with waiting times of 6 minutes. Also between 15h00 and 20h00, there will be extra voyages from Estádio do Dragão to Senhora da Hora.
The city’s traffic is expected to have some hard restrictions during the competition, reason why Metro is the best option to get to see the Air Race. A significant increase in the number of clients is also expected, and because of that Metro do Porto recommends an anticipated buy of Andante titles.

Jardim do Morro station is closed from the 1st to the 3rd of September. The closest station to the Red Bull event will be General Torres if you are coming from Vila Nova de Gaia. This station will re-open on the 4th September.
