Harvard awards Metro do Porto

Architecture and Design distinguished

Harvard awards Metro do Porto with Veronica Rudge Green Prize, one of the most important design international awards. This prize is dedicated to urban design and this year went to Metro do Porto and the architect Eduardo Souto Moura.

For the company this award is received with great honor, as an important international recognition, either for us as for architect Eduardo Souto Moura, as one of his most impressive projects.

Harvard is known as being one of the best universities in the world, and this award adds even more value to Metro do Porto sustainability, not only by its architecture, integration and design but also by its public service.

About «Veronica Rudge Prize»
Established in 1986, while celebrating the 350 years of Harvard University and 50 years of its School of Design, the Veronica Rudge Green Prize in Urban Design is the foremost award recognizing achievement in this field. The Prize is awarded every two years to recognize excellence in urban design with an emphasis on projects that contribute to the public realm of a city and improve the quality of urban life all over the world.
Barcelona public spaces, Tokyo Hillside Terrace (from (Fumihiko Maki), Metro of Bilbao (by Norman Foster) and Quinta da Malagueira (by Siza Vieira), in Évora, were also awarded with this prize.
