Metro Night Service

26 June 2015

Metro Night Service

Metro do Porto offers a public transport service on Fridays and Saturdays nights, providing 24 hours service on the Yellow Line (D), between Santo Ovídio and Hospital S. João, and on the Blue Line (A), between Estádio do Dragão and Senhora da Hora, joining STCP for the dawn network.

MOVE PORTO is a result of a partnership between Metro do Porto, STCP and Porto City Hall. It’s improving Porto downtown mobility, promoting quality and sustainability for life in the city. This nocturnal service is available between June and October.

With traffic strongly conditioned in the city center during weekend evenings, the Metro assumes itself as a preferred way of transportation. ALIADOS station, on the Yellow Line, and TRINDADE station, on the Blue Line, are reference targets for anyone wishing to get to the "heart" of Porto nightlife. This service wants to continue offering the comfort, speed and security that customers have been accustomed over the years.

To use the service, occasional clients just need to buy a travel card with Z2, that costs €1.20 (or €2.40 for roundtrip). The Andante Z2 is a valid title in all stations included in MOVE PORTO operation. On the Blue Line, between the stations Estádio do Dragão and Senhora da Hora, and on the Yellow Line, between Santo Ovídio and Hospital S. João. There will be 20 minutes frequencies on both lines and both directions.

Security is a priority to Metro, and to assure the convenience of all clients, the number of vigilantes on the network will be strengthened. On the ground, support teams and customer information will be available, as usual.
