Metro do Porto's revenue exceeds 46 million euros in 2017

Annual Report, approved on the 21st of june, reveals more than 60 million customers.

In 2017, year that clebrates its 15th aniversary, Metro do Porto presented historical results, reinforcing the growth evidenced in 2016. For the first time it surpassed the barrier of 60 million costumers transported, and ended the year with a positive exercice - EBIDTA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) - of 19.2 million euros, representing an icrease of around 50% over the previous year, set at 13 million euros.

According to the 2017 Annual Report data, approved thursday, the 21st of June, Metro do Porto anual revenue grew by 8.8% compared to 2016, reaching more than 46.7 million euros. By contrast, direct operating costs increased by only 0.1% to 38 million euros in such way that, as a result of the variation of the two amounts, the direct coverage rate reached the unprecedented figure of 119.7%, plus 9.1 percentage points compared to 2016.

The growth was equally applied to operating results and net operating. For the first item, the 10.6% improvement brought the stabilization of results to the negative ammount of 39.9 million euros. On the other hand, the positive evolution of net results by 29% allowed them to be reduced to 96.7 million euros.

With 15 years of existence, Metro do Porto presented an aoutsanding evolution of its financial indicators, which reflects the constant and growing demand, as well as the customers confidence in this transport service. Overall, in 2017, more than 60 million customers were accounted, corresponding to a total of 60.6 million validations. More 2.6 million than in 2016.
